As an artist, painting landscapes holds a special place in my heart. It challenges me to not simply copy what I see in nature, but to interpret and convey the essence of the scene. The subtle interplay of light and shadow, the ever-changing landscapes and weathers, all fascinate and inspire me. Each brushstroke is a chance to capture the beauty and mood of a particular moment in time. This fascination with the natural world has also led me to explore the same subject in different mediums, as evidenced in my series, Storms of Charcoal. Through my paintings, I aim to evoke the same emotions and awe that I feel when surrounded by the wonders of the world around us.
The common thread in all the paintings is the depiction of different emotions through the subject: bird. As an observer one thing I found common in almost every person I met is the thirst for freedom. Seeking it myself led me to ask a few questions and find the answers through this creative process. From having the first taste of freedom to engaging in a cosmic dance, from introspection to stillness we live around these basic emotions and experience life in a cyclical way.
As the waves of postmodernism threaten to erode the city's unique identity, I have chosen to intertwine the vanishing heritage with the renewed purpose of fallen leaves as a symbolic representation of regeneration and resilience. Continuing this series of leaf painting I am exploring new subjects that would be released soon.
As an artist, creating portraits allows me to connect with my subjects on a deeper level and truly capture their essence. The joy of portraiture comes from the challenge of capturing a person's unique personality and emotions through art. It is a rewarding experience to see the reaction of the model when they see themselves in a new light through my work. Portraits also allow me to explore different techniques and styles, pushing me to improve and grow as an artist. Overall, the joy of creating portraits lies in the human connection and the ability to bring someone's inner self to life on the canvas.
The storm series reflects the storms evading our mind. These storms are deep and intense and often leave us confused. We often look for a ray of light or the opening up of the clouds of doubts and get a glimpse of clarity. It is these intense moments to doubts, clouded thoughts and reaching for the light that I have expressed through the medium of Charcoal on paper.
I began my artistic journey with basic pencil drawings, as they were the simplest tools available to me at the time. Little did I know that these humble sketches would become the roots of everything I have built up as an artist. Despite their simplicity, pencil drawings quickly became one of the most challenging yet rewarding mediums for me. The precision and patience required to create realistic and detailed artwork pushed me to hone my skills and develop a deep love for the craft. To this day, pencil drawings remain a fundamental part of my artistic practice, serving as a reminder of where I started and how much I have grown as an artist.
Commissioned artworks bring joy to people when they receive them because they are often personal and meaningful. Whether it's a portrait of a loved one, a custom piece for their home, or a special gift for a milestone occasion, commissioned artworks have the power to evoke happiness and gratitude. The thought and effort that goes into creating these pieces adds to the thrill of knowing that their piece was made specifically for them. The art becomes a treasured possession, a reminder of the love and thoughtfulness behind its creation, and a source of joy for years to come.
Commission works play a crucial role in pushing me as an artist beyond my comfort zone, constantly challenging me to explore different subjects, methods, and mediums. The pressure to deliver on time with complete discipline and attention forces me to step outside of my usual artistic boundaries and try new techniques.
